Government introduces e-register of apostilles

Ukraine from November 9 started the state registration of apostilles in the electronic register of apostilles.
This is stipulated in Cabinet resolution No. 890 dated November 4, which also approves the procedure for keeping the register.
According to the document, by December 15 the Ministry of Justice should ensure the registration of samples of signatures, seals and stamps of the ministry officials authorized for apostille, the officials of departments for the state registration of civil status acts, as well as state registrars, notaries and judges. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should also join keeping the register. In particular, it should provide compensation for the costs for register keeping to the register administrator on the basis of relevant agreements.
The procedure of keeping the electronic register of apostilles regulates keeping the register and recording information on apostilles put down in Ukraine on documents, which are issued by judicial authorities and courts, as well as other authorities. According to the order, the register will include information on apostilles, which were put down after its introduction. Access to the register will be free through the corresponding website.
